The third play mode in BabyType is ShapeType, which differs from
ClassicType and PatternType
in that a particular key will always generate the same shape and fill it
with the same color. When BabyType is in the ShapeType play mode,
the following things happen when your child presses a key on the keyboard:
- A sound effect is played on your computer's speakers. For example, a dog barking.
- A shape is displayed on the screen. The shape displayed when a
particular key is pressed is always the same. There are 14 possible
shapes (circle, oval, triangle, right triangle, square, rectangle,
trapezoid, diamond, pentagon, hexagon, arrow, octagon, star, and
cross).
- All shapes are the same size.
- The shape is filled with a color. The shape displayed when a
particular key is pressed is always filled with the same color. For
example, the Space Bar always displays a maroon star.
