CodeSite Tools

In addition to the CodeSite Logging Classes, the CodeSite Logging System relies on the CodeSite Tools, which is a set of redistributable applications that allow your applications to continue to log CodeSite messages even when they are running on another system. The following programs are included in the CodeSite Tools:

	CodeSite Dispatcher Responsible for distributing CodeSite messages and managing CodeSite log files.
	CodeSite Live Viewer Live Logging Receiver. Provides a wide variety of inspectors and other services specifically designed for analyzing CodeSite messages.
	CodeSite File Viewer Log file reader. Provides a wide variety of inspectors and other services specifically designed for analyzing CodeSite messages.
	CodeSite Controller Provides access to settings that affect the behavior of the CodeSite Dispatcher, even when the Dispatcher is running in stealth mode.

Furthermore, the CodeSite Tools may be freely distributed with your application. At a minimum the CodeSite Dispatcher is required for logging. However, you may also wish to include the other tools (Live Viewer, File Viewer, and Controller) when deploying your application. The CodeSite documentation provides more information on deploying your applications built with CodeSite.

To aid in the distribution and installation of these support programs, a separate installation program, CS4_Tools.exe, is provided in the CS4\Tools folder. This installation program can be run silently so that it can be easily incorporated into the primary installation process of your own application. The Tools folder also contains a CodeSiteToolsSetup.txt file that describes the various ways the CS4_Tools installation program can be customized.
