CodeSite Method Tracer and Nested Types

Postby UweRaabe » Fri Apr 14, 2017 5:58 am

The CodeSite Method Trace sometimes refuses to parse the current unit correctly when a class with a nested type is present. This is a stripped down example which gives "This unit does not contain any methods to trace." It works perfectly when the nested type is commented out.

CodeSite Studio 5.3.2, Delphi 10.2 Tokyo, Windows 10

Code: Select all
program Project229;

type
  TMyType = class
  type
    TNestedType = (one, two, three);
  public
    procedure Test;
  end;

procedure TMyType.Test;
begin
end;

begin
end.

Thanks for the report. The parser that the Method Tracer uses was originally designed before nested types were supported. We'll add it to the list of of future enhancements.
